Piper Seneca Engine Cones Restoration

We coated this cones in extreme chrome for a Piper Seneca - must say we are very contempt with the results and so are the mechanics. No more buffing, polishing or pitting here.

These pegs where restored for the Legnano bike project on gloss black and lime green powder - they came out like new.

KTM MX PEGS Restoration

These pegs where brought in yesterday looking rough and beat up... by the end of the afternoon this was the final product coated with KTM factory orange and Low Gloss black for the springs and hardware. VW AMAROK wheels

The last 2 months have been mainly about wheels, wheels and more wheels... this is our 3rd set of wheels for Volkswagen Amarok Trucks we have done in the past 2 weeks... all in low gloss black. We busted these things out today in 6 hours.

What is Powder Coating?

Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. The main difference between a conventional liquid paint and a powder coating is that the powder coating does not require a solvent to keep the binder and filler parts in a liquid suspension form. The coating is typically applied electrostatically and is then cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a "skin". The powder may be a thermoplastic or a thermoset polymer. It is usually used to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint.

Most Common Applications

Any objects made from metal (aluminum, steel, brass, copper, bronze, titanium, magnesium, etc.) can be powder coated. All of these metals, weather sand, die, investment casting, extruded, forged, and of course billet metals can be powder coated. Low density cast parts may require additional handling and possibly surface restoration by the experienced technicians at NQF. 

Some of the items that we powder coat include: patio and indoor furniture, decorative architectural pieces, car, boat, plane, bicycle and motorcycle parts (including chassis, frames and exhaust systems), birdcages, wheels, plumbing and lighting fixtures, metal cabinetry (i.e. medicine cabinets, etc), appliances (front and side panels of ranges and refrigerators, washer tops and lids, dryer drums, air conditioner cabinets, water heaters, dishwasher racks, cavities of microwave ovens), and more much more!

Media Blasting

Preparation of your parts is essential before coating them, that's where Media Blasting comes in on every job we do to assure you get the best results. Media Blasting ‘etches’ the surface of the metal, creating a solid mechanical bond adhesion during the curing process. It also cleanses the metal. We use very fine angular media because it gives the best results for powder coating adhesion. We also use Glass Bead Media, especially for aluminum to reflects the light to your eyes better, and make teh metal appear whiter or brighter.
